EmbroideryBench is a buying guide for people who charge money for what they stitch. Not for hobbyists choosing between two $400 machines — for the person weighing a $1,000 single-needle against a $4,000 multi-needle because there is an order waiting on the other side of the decision.
Why this site exists
Almost everything written about embroidery machines is written for hobby stitchers. So the reviews compare what hobbyists care about — built-in designs, screen size, how it looks on a craft table — and skip the two questions a shop actually asks: what does each finished cap cost me, and when does the machine pay for itself.
That gap is the whole reason this exists. Every guide here prices the cap driver, the frames and the first year of backing and thread, because a machine that is $800 cheaper and needs $1,200 of accessories is not cheaper.
How we work
We do not run these machines ourselves. We say it here, we say it on every guide, and we will keep saying it for as long as it stays true. EmbroideryBench is a meta-analysis: specialist reviews, video from working embroiderers, verified owner ratings and official documentation, read together and turned into one comparable score, with every source listed at the bottom of the page.
No machine gets a score on fewer than five independent sources. Where sources disagree, we report the disagreement instead of averaging it away. The full method is on How we grade.
How this is paid for
Affiliate commissions, mostly through the Amazon Associates programme. If you buy through a link here we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Nobody pays for placement, no manufacturer sees a guide before it is published, and the commission rate is the same on every machine we cover, so there is nothing to gain by ranking one above another. The details are on our affiliate disclosure.
